To apply for a Student Visa you must enrol and be
accepted on a course that will provide you with
full-time student status. Upon acceptance, an
enrolment letter will be issued to. This letter
will be required for the visa application process.
If you are a foreign national, please read the
information provided in this section carefully to
ensure that you are eligible to apply for a student
Visa to enter or remain in the UK as a student.
Note however, that this serves as a guide, and it is
always best to check all aspects of your application
with Home Office.
To qualify for a student visa, you must be able to
show that:
-
You have been accepted on a full-time course at
an accredited institution.
-
That the
course you are accepted for runs for at least 15
hours a week, and is comprised of daytime study.
-
You are able
to support yourself (and any dependants), as
well as covering the course fees.
-
You plan to
leave the UK on completion of your course.
It is also important to note that with a student
Visa, you cannot take on full-time work. An
individual on a student Visa is not entitled to more
than 20 hours of work a week (more or less 3 days)
or be self-employed.
If you fail on any of these points, Home Office
reserves the right to turn down your application for
the STUDENT VISA, and your enrolment will
subsequently be cancelled.
