Students at Blake Hall College have
the benefit of using an extensive, professional website
that provides them with information and guidance
regarding their career options. The information will
assist them in making the best possible decisions about
their future.
The
Mentor
website was specifically chosen for the benefit of our
students. The Career Mentor will help students to
identify their fields of interest, as well as the
occupations linked to their specific field of interest.
The program is used to determine the career path in
which your personal attributes might best implemented,
and present you with the best choices to suit your
circumstances.
The program is especially useful since it provides a
number of functions which combine to offer students a
combined and comprehensive approach to career planning.
Students are able to search the program’s database of
over 600 careers, which also provides details of
requirements – academic and personal.
Following the database search, students are encouraged
to complete a questionnaire consisting of 154 questions.
The results are then displayed in graph form in order to
clearly display the scores, and rank them according to
22 work areas, which are each linked to a number of
related careers.
On completion of the questionnaire, students will be
pleased to know that Mentor also includes a Curriculum
Vitae Generator. This application offers a user-friendly
way of building a professional CV, which can
subsequently be printed for job application purposes.
